In recent years, new Tag Heuer replica releases have been scarce following V6 factory’s closure. Today, I am reviewing a Tag Carrera replica made by X Factory in 2020, a high-quality replica that demonstrates X Factory’s excellent craftsmanship. Many may not be familiar with X Factory, which is a branch of VS Company, similar to how PPF is a branch of ZF Company. Essentially, the replica watch market is dominated by these two companies, VS and ZF.
The ceramic Tag Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 replica from XF boasts a fully matte black appearance, with both the case and bracelet made from genuine ceramic material. Its skeleton dial adds to the watch’s uniqueness, making it a remarkable replica that closely resembles the genuine model. However, this watch is quite heavy.
The case measures 43mm in diameter and 17mm in thickness. The matte finish on both the case and bracelet feels refined, with each edge smoothly finished and free of any metal burrs. Viewing the case from the side, you can see that the lugs are seamlessly integrated with the case, and the bezel is machine-pressed into the case. The buttons at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock are functional, controlling the chronograph.
The dial features only silver and gray tones but remains highly readable due to its skeleton design and large hour markers. Some movement parts, like the date wheel, are visible through the front dial, with the current date displayed in a window between 3 o’clock and 4 o’clock. The subdial at 9 o’clock shows the small seconds, while the larger subdials at 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock display the chronograph hours and minutes, respectively. The dial’s skeleton structure presents challenges for cloning, so there are some imperfections compared to the genuine watch.
The case’s thickness is due to the addition of extra plates to a Chinese chronograph movement by X Factory. While the accuracy of this clone movement is acceptable, it is advised not to use the chronograph function frequently, as the Asia 7750 movement can be fragile.
